France, as an EU Schengen member, follows EU customs regulations. French Customs (Douanes) enforces strict rules especially on high-value goods, luxury items, and cultural artifacts. ETIAS will be required for visa-exempt travelers starting 2025.
Entry Process
- 1Apply for ETIAS before travel (for visa-exempt nationals, starting 2025)
- 2Proceed to Schengen passport control if arriving from non-Schengen country
- 3Collect checked baggage
- 4Use Green Channel (nothing to declare) or Red Channel (goods to declare)
- 5Exit to arrivals area
